Both the US FDA and Health Canada are working towards reducing trans fats from the food supply by banning the use of partially hydrogenated oils (PHOs). PHOs are responsible for the trans fats found in processed food. Current US regulations require the listing of trans fats on Nutrition Facts panels. This will likely change when the ban goes through.

A: Yes! There are some cases where you may want to view the Nutrition Facts Panel for an individual Ingredient from the database. To do so, you will create a Recipe and add the Ingredient to the Recipe as one serving of the Ingredient.
