With a completed foodlist, profile, or new food item entry, click to save the entry as usual. In the Save As dialog box that appears, click on the Change button near the middle. Listed you will see all available active databases, as well as choices for drives A:\ and B:\. Click the appropriate letter, then OK. Finally, click the Add button to save the entry.

Behind the scenes, The Food Processor is doing several things. 'Files' that are saved to a disk are actually records saved into a database stored on the disk. When clicking the drive letter representing your disk drive, The Food Processor automatically creates a database on the diskette in which to save the record. This process, combined with the inherent speed (or lack thereof) of accessing a disk drive makes this procedure somewhat slow.
