  1. Close down the program. Open up File Manager in the Main folder.
  2. Insert a blank disk in the drive. Inside of file manager, double click on the folder "fpwin" or "genwin". This should spring out a subfolder called data. Double click on "data". In the right hand window you should see a large list of files. Once there, click on File, then Search.
  3. There should be a window titled: "Search". In the search for field, type the name of the database you are trying to copy plus the following so it looks like this: [name]*.*

For example type "fdlist*.*". The second line should read the following: c:\fpwin\data or c:\genwin\data. Once you have this, click on OK.
  4. This should bring up several files (anywhere from 7 to 18). Highlight all of the files. You can do this by clicking the first file to highlight it, then holding down the shift key and clicking the last file to highlight all inclusive.
  5. Once you have the files highlighted, click on File on the menu bar again, then on Copy. This brings up another box called copy. In that box, in the "to" section, type "a:\" then click OK. This writes those files to the disk.
  6. Repeat this process for each database: user*.*, or whichever databases you need to back up!
  7. Now, at the other computer, or should you need to restore. Once again, get into the File Manager in the Main folder. Click on the folder c:\ in the left window so that it is highlighted. Click on file at the top, then search. In the "search for:" field, type *.eqs and click OK. Again, it will find any number of files. Highlight all of them, then click on file then delete. Then OK, then Yes to All, then Yes, finally OK. These .eqs files are responsible for the display of the information contained in your databases. By deleting them here, then copying from the disk(s), the next time you start the program, these .eqs files will by dynamically rebuilt reflecting the contents of the current databases, not the "old" databases.
  8. Ok, now were ready to copy over the files from the disk. Insert the disk, and at the top of file manager, click on the a:\ drive button. After a moment, the files you copied will appear at the right. Click on the top one, highlighting it, the hold down the shift key and click the last one, thus highlighting all of them. Once highlighted, click File and then Copy. In the "to:" field, type the following: c:\fpwin\data or c:\genwin\data (or the path to the data folder under fpwin/genwin) then click OK. It may ask you to replace or overwrite an existing file. If it does ask this question, answer YES. If it doesn't ever ask, that is fine also.
  9. Once it's done, that should be it! Make sure that you have that database active inside the program and from there you'll be able to use the info at will.
