Note: When running Database Utility under Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows 2008 Server, you will need to run the application as Administrator. Specifically, right-click the Database Utility shortcut, and choose Run As Administrator.
Backing Up:
- Exit the ESHA software from all computers.
- On the computer which houses your database...click Start/Programs/ESHA/[ESHA application name]/Database Utility
- On the menu, click Data/Backup.
- Select a location and name for the backup. NOTE: The backup must initially take place to the local computer. After complete, you may move the .bak file created by the backup anywhere necessary to archive it.
Restoring:
- Exit the ESHA software from all computers.
- On the computer which houses your database...click Start/Programs/ESHA/[ESHA application name]/Database Utility
- On the menu, click Data/Restore.
- Locate & highlight the .bak file from which you wish to restore.
- Click OK.
- After the Restore completes, there is likely need to (re)add your login as a valid user.
- Still in Database Utility, click Users / Manage.
- Click New.
- If need, change the login name to the proper username of the user who will need to run the software. Often this is the name that appears by default.
- Click Create.
- Close Database Utility and test the application to see if your data is present.
